I’m back!

   Posted by: VoGE

Hello family, friends, and neighbors…

It’s been far too long since I’ve posted here and for that, I apologize. In fairness, I have been very busy… The 1001 details I will spare you, but the good news is that some of my busy-ness involved music… and I’m sharing it with you via online videos and mp3 links!

So let the fun begin. First of all, I’ve been very busy producing videos for myself and others for the last couple of years some of which you can check out via my video production site, Currently the lineup includes three VoGE streaming music videos online (in stereo even!):

That should keep you busy watching for a bit. I have also posted quite a few videos on YouTube, but that’s a topic for another post… Which I will put together very shortly, I promise. Those of you who like to read ahead can go to YouTube and search for VoGE. I hope to see you there!

A New Video Is Born

   Posted by: VoGE

Sometimes magic happens… Without planning or forethought, a normal day can transform into something intense and sacred if we just open our hearts to the possibilities. Such a time was recently gifted to me and as luck would have it, a camera was rolling!

I was visiting with some dear friends, one of whom is a sculptor and painter. The ambiance of their home is amazing, like visiting a gallery or museum. As I marveled at the wonderful artwork everywhere about, I also became aware of an amazing number of HUGE quartz crystals in the room. Feeling a warm glow swirling all about me (so strong I could feel it pulsate!), I sat down in the middle of the floor with my Juniper Flute, closed my eyes and began literally inhaling the energies, “charging the flute” with each breath.

The music that soon flowed through me spoke of Sunset time… The period of gathering darkness for all… A time of reliance on a greater light within… It sang a lullaby for sleepy winged spirits… Wistful, whispered promises of rejuvenation before a Dawn sure to come.

As I reviewed the videotape, I was again caught by the magic of the moment and added two additional keyboard tracks. Thus was born the video I share with you now!

I warn you in advance that all the technical elements for a “good video” are missing here. The light was very dim; the camera was casually sat on a table unattended; the room was noisy and I didn’t even use a “good microphone”… But somehow the flaws don’t matter. This is a slice of time, a singular prayerful moment at sunset, crystallized and captured by the technology.

I hope you enjoy the video. It is an honor to share it with you!

VoGE Video Web Debut

   Posted by: VoGE

I am very excited to announce a web-sized preview of the new VoGE video, Sister Moon Medicine Song! In the course of making this video I remixed and revisited the song, adding my Cherry Raven Flute to the music. The actual playing-and-recording of this track is part of the music video itself! You can click here to view the entire video or Right Click then choose Save Target As to download the video to your local hard drive (16meg file).

This completely self-produced project was done entirely at my lodge here on the Chickasaw Bluffs. I hope you enjoy it! And as always, I appreciate any comments you may have. Please, contact me.

New Year brings New Things

I hope everyone had a happy and fulfilling holiday season. Now, let’s get on with Winter-toward-Spring!

I’m typing this entry while the computer is busy rendering the latest in a seemingly endless stream of clips that are hopefully to become the first official VoGE music video. Video production is a wonderful and captivating business. To those of you finding me missing in action these past weeks, I apologize, but I must follow the muse where she leads.

I’ll give more details about the video soon, hopefully maybe even a sneak peek! Please stay tuned here for details.

On The Eve Of Christmas…

   Posted by: VoGE

The commercialism of Xmas turns me off more each passing year… The gawdy glitter seems less festive than vulgar… But, somewhere along the edges creeps a feeling… Hard to define… A glow inside that harkens back to a simpler time when I had a less complicated heart… This, for me, is the true Spirit of Christmas.

VoGE Newsletter #1 – Holiday Thoughts

   Posted by: VoGE

O’siyo friends and family…
Happy holidays to you-n-yours! Here it comes ready or not… That time of year some dread, others eagerly anticipate, and the rest of us just accept till Spring. This Winter season has brought many changes for Voice of Golden Eagle music and I’d like to share a few of them with you including this, the very first edition of the VoGE Newsletter online!

As I’m sure most of you are already aware,, the world’s first and biggest online site for independent music, closed its doors in early December. It’s been purchased by and they promise to reopen the domain in early 2004, but there’s no doubt about it… as we knew it is gone forever.
There is a certain sadness surrounding this passing for all who shared the dream for independent music that was In my own case, they were incredible for getting the message out about VoGE music. In the two and a half years I had an artist site there, the music had over 440,000 listens and many hundreds of CDs were sold to people all over the world. It also led me to some wonderful Net based musical collaborations I will cherish forever.
It is said that all good things must come to an end and is no exception, but let me assure you that this is just the beginning of a new chapter for VoGE music!

* The VoGE recording facility is undergoing many new renovations

and upgrades.
* Plans are underway for new VoGE albums, including one to be

digitally recorded within a huge cave in the Arkansas Ozarks!
Read all about it, here in the VoGE Newsletter…

Most important to remember, the URL will always take you to VoGE music online.

Please check it out occasionally as it will become an outlet for more and more VoGE arts-n-crafts as time goes by. The direct link to the store is:

Voice of Golden Eagle’s Roadside Stand
Like getting special discounts? So do I… The nice folks at CafeShops have given me a “virtual coupon” I can offer you that’s good thru December 19th, 2003. Just put SNOWFLAKES in the Coupon Code field of your order form and receive $4.00 off any purchase of $40 or more.

Many great things are happening with the music!
NEW RECORDING PROJECT – I am contacting the National park Service about the possibility of using the Blanchard Springs Caverns as a location to do a digital recording. This incredible cave in the Arkansas Ozarks has some of the most amazing natural acoustics I’ve ever heard! I have dreamed for years of doing a Native Flute recording there and hope to soon make it a reality. I’ll keep a journal of the recording session and share it in a future newsletter.
NEW PRODUCTION FACILITY – Meanwhile, back at VoGE Central, I have spent most of the last month totally revamping my tiny recording studio. In addition to a major computer upgrade, I have moved the facility to a much larger area all of which will help the creative process tremendously once I get past the tedium of setting it all up. The new computer system gives me the horsepower I need to expand into professional multimedia production, so stay tuned for some home grown music videos coming in the near future!
OTHER FUTURE OFFERINGS will include streaming VoGE videos online (here’s a pre-upgrade preview) and more VoGE visual art available via the Web. I’ll post updates as these become available.

IN CLOSING: Holiday thoughts from Voice of Golden Eagle

As we enter the heart of this Winter season, people

to their own traditions. But all have one thing in

common. The ceremonies are reminders that in the

midst of icy storms both physical and spiritual,

Spring will come again giving birth to our renewed
hopes and dreams.

In all cultures throughout the world Winter has

traditionally been a time of gathering by the family

fire, telling stories, and sharing wisdom. A period

of reflection, meditation, and celebration of the

seasons past and the seasons to come. A time of

Regardless of how you choose to observe this very
